Tuna Drive

As we do each year, the Sunday School will be collecting cans of tuna in each class during the Sundays in January. The class that collects the most cans by the end of the month will be treated to breakfast on Christian Ed during Sunday School on February 5th. All of the tuna will be donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. Last year we collected around 1,200 cans of tuna.

Youth Groups

St. John’s offers a variety of activities for children. All are welcome. Call the office for more information about our programs.

Common Ground - Next Service on February 5 at 7 pm. A monthly worship service oriented toward youth. The service will feature lots of candlelight, guitar-driven music, scripture readings, meditations and communion. Fellowship for the youth will follow. Sunday School - Every Sunday between 9:15 and 10:10 am we offer Sunday school for students in age 3 through grade 8. More information here.

Service Project Planning - Every first and third Sunday after the 10:30 service

First Communion - Fifth Graders study for first communion as they prepare to join us at the Table celebrating and remembering Christ’s love for us.

Confirmation Classes - Confirmation class is offered in grades 7-8. They meet once a week after school with Pastor Harris and Pastor Kroeze as they ready themselves to affirm their faith. This year will begin with orientation on Sunday, September 26, immediately following the 10:30 Service in the Connecticut Room. Confirmation Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. beginning September 28th. For additional information, please contact Pastor Harris or Pastor Kroeze.

Eaglesounds - Youth in grades 6 to 12 sing and play music several times a year at the 10:30 a.m. service. Rehearsals are Sundays following the 10:30 a.m. service. Their first rehearsal will be Sunday, October 3 following the 10:30 a.m. service. Please contact Cheryl Milukas with questions or for more information.

Summer Vacation Bible School - One week in July. 3 year-olds through grade 5.
