Worship
At Saint John’s, worship is at the heart of our life as a Christian community. Our worship celebrates the best of the Lutheran
evangelical-catholic heritage, following the ancient pattern of the Mass that has continued from the earliest of Christian worship.
When we gather together we give thanks and praise to God for all of God's goodness and celebrate the Eucharist and hear God’s word,
by which God continues to be present with us and strengthen us in faith for service in the world. We invite you to join us!
"All who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ"
The Rule of St. Benedict
Sunday Worship:
8:30 a.m. in the Ina Ellen Chapel
This service offers a simpler and more intimate worship opportunity. Music is limited to two hymns
and portions of the liturgy are abbreviated.
10:30 a.m. in the main sanctuary
This service is marked by an abundance of music featuring our magnificent pipe organ, Senior Choir,
soloists, instrumental ensembles and youth choirs and ensembles. Much of the liturgy is sung, creating a grand and festive
worship service. Time for fellowship is available during coffee hour immediately following worship in Luther Hall.
Child care is available; ask an usher for directions.
Nursery Care supervised by a professional child-care worker is available for children up to age 4 in Noah’s Ark downstairs from the main sanctuary.
While children are always welcome to worship, the nursery is available for your
convenience when needed for all or part of the service.
During The Prayers of the Church, each member is encouraged to say aloud or silently the names of those in need of prayer.
If you or someone you know is in the hospital or in need of a pastoral call, please call the church office.
Visitors are asked to please complete a visitor’s card found in the pew racks and place it in the offering plate
and to sign the guest register in the Narthex.
Please join us for Coffee Hour in Luther Hall (downstairs) immediately following the 10:30 a.m. service.
