Cooking For Pacific House by Cody Meyer
We went to church this afternoon to help Lillian and
Fred. They are from Tanzania. When we got to
church, they were already working. Lillian was
drying the salad. Fred was cutting vegetables into
some small pieces. Then they saw us so I took
Lillian’s job. PopPop and Kelsey had to cut the
bread. They cut 6 loaves of bread. It was call
Italian bread. After a while, my hand and my arms
were getting tired. So I used my other hand. When
I was done I cut some cucumbers. After another
while I cut myself on my middle finger. But that
didn’t stop me. So then I shredded some carrots.
We did all this because we‘re making salad
supreme. On the grill was spaghetti. When the
spaghetti and the sauce were done we mixed it
together. There was lots of it. We put everything in
the Pacifica (PopPop’s car) and drove to the Pacific
House Homeless Shelter. We fed 60 men.
My body had a full feeling of goodness
because I loved meeting Lillian and Fred. Also, I
feel even better for helping the poor people.
